Margie Gardner

Mrs. Margie Ann Blackwell Gardner, 79, of Bethune, passed away Sunday morning, January 7th, 2018, at her daughters residence in Columbia surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday in Union United Methodist Church, officiated by Dr. Steven Todd and Rev. Charlie Short.  The family will be receiving friends Monday evening, from 5-8 p.m. at the residence, 705 Blackmon Street North, Bethune.

Mrs. Gardner was born in McBee, a daughter of the late Lucas & Ithane Mozingo Blackwell.  She retired from working in the education system assisting students in completing their education.  Margie loved watching football with her boys, going fishing with her daughter, taking road trips, going to dinner, and was a member of Union United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie Bullard of West Columbia; sons, Ken “Kenny Boy” Gardner of Columbia & Terry “Maybird” Gardner of Columbia; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, James “Pistol” Gardner.
