Margaret Knowles

Mrs. Margaret Sue Knowles, 74, of Patrick, went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday evening, March 1st, 2017, surrounded by her loving family.

Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday in Wilkes Chapel United Methodist Church. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Margaret was born in the Middendorf Community, a daughter of the late Neil Roderick & Elliott Stroud Wilks. She was a lady who never met a stranger, loved everyone, and always put others before herself. Mrs. Knowles was a lifetime member of Wilkes Chapel United Methodist Church, the church she loved with all her heart.

Surviving to cherish her memory are children: Janet Goforth, Julia Goforth, Kenneth “PeeWee” Goforth, Jr., Gina Knowles and husband, Donald Mason, Machelle Knowles, Treyvion “Turtle” Knowles; 5 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings: Celia Melton, Archie Wilks, E.M. Wilks, Betty Stafford, and David Wilks.

She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Ginger Bare; and a brother, James Duncan Wilks.
