View Remembrance Video Bishopville, SC Funeral services for Major E.0. Gainey age 73 will be held Wednesday at 3:00pm at Lucknow Baptist Church. Rev. Howard Brown and Chaplain Allen Lynch will officiate. Burial will be in the Lucknow Baptist Church Cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home, Bishopville Chapel . Visitation will be held 6-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Mr. Gainey passed away Monday, March 09, 2015. He was the son of the late Obedieth (Buddy) Gainey and Myrtle Beasley Gainey. He was a lifetime member of Lucknow Baptist Church where he served as chairman of deacons and also as the churchs treasurer. He was a member of the Lucknow Masonic Lodge #212. He worked for Reeves Brothers for 35 years and Galey & Lord for 6 six. He was a US Army Veteran where he served as a Medic. Mr. Gaineys hobbies were Antique Cars, fishing, working in the yard and most importantly spending time with his loving family. Surviving are his wife of 23 years, Linda Farmer Gainey, Bishopville; children, Earl (Jennifer) Gainey, Bishopville, Michael Gainey, Bishopville, Scotty (Megan) Hopkins, Murrells Inlet, Mark (Amy) Hopkins, special daughter in law, Kelly Gainey, Dayton, OH, brothers, Tommy (Judy) Gainey Bishopville, Joe (Web) Boykin, Cassatt; sister, Donnie Kiser, Bishopville. 9 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda Sue Hahula Gainey, sister, Bennie Lee Stokes,mother in laws and father in laws, Mr. and Mrs. Chester Hahula and Mr. and Mrs. Stanford Farmer. The family would like to offer special thanks to the Hospice Care of South Carolina for the wonderful and loving care received during this time. Memorials may be made to the Lucknow Baptist Church.
