Funeral services for Lula Belle Lane, age 89, will be held Thursday at 3:00 at the First Church Of The Nazarene. Rev. John Griggs and Rev. Becky Forrest will officiate. Burial will be in the Darlington Memory Gardens directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 pm at 524 West College Ave. Hartsville, S.C.

Mrs. Lane was born in Lake City a daughter of the late Eddie Hanna and Bernice Gaskins Hanna Timmons. She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, where she was an active part of the A.R. Lunn Sunday School Class until she went to live at Morrell Nursing Home. In 2015 she received the Distinguished Service Award for welcoming each church visitor with a loaf of her homemade bread. At Morrell’s she continued to share her talents by assisting the activities director and helping other residents.

Surviving are four sons, Marion (Judy) Lane, Hartsville, Charles Lane, Hartsville, John Lane, Hartsville and Jerry (Angela) Lane, Hartsville; seven grandchildren, Mitzi Lane Myers, Hartsville, Kimberly Lane (Randal) Croshaw, Murrell’s Inlet, John (Amanda) Lane, Universal City, TX, Jay (Amy) Lane, Savannah, GA, Peter (Candice) Lane, Valdosta, GA, Meredith Lane (Clay) Hall, Hartsville and Miranda Lane (Allan) Holloman, Hartsville; seventeen great grandchildren; two sisters, Trella Driggers, El Paso, TX and Louise (Wells) James, Moncks Coroner; one brother, Joseph Timmons, Lake City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Lane, one son, Paul Stanley Lane; daughter in law, Marsha Tilley Lane; two brothers, Mark Hanna and Henry Timmons; three sisters, Helen McLeod, Gladys Coker and Bert Nettles.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Mac Chapman and the staff at Morrell Nursing Home and the staff at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center.
