Lona Strickland

Lona Faye Strickland, age 81, of Hartsville, joined her husband Rev. I.J. Strickland in their Heavenly Home on June 29. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 at Clyde Church of God. Rev. Don Childers and Rev. Hazel Mixon will officiate. Burial will be in the Clyde Church of God Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Strickland was born in Hemingway a daughter of the late Robert & Lauza Prosser Moore. She was a member of Bethune Church of God. She was a faithfull pastors wife for 43 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved people, but most of all she loved her Lord and Savior.

Surviving are one daughter, Sharon (Michael) Fales, Hartsville; four sons, Daryl Strickland, Hartsville, Dwayne (Sandy) Strickland, Varnville, Derrick (Michele) Strickland, Greeley, CO and Stacey (Tammy) Strickland, Clinton, S.C.; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; two sisters, Sandra Tyler, Florence and Wanda (Gene) Gregory, Pamplico; one brother, Ronnie (Ann) Moore, Pamplico. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. I.J. Strickland; one brother, Bobby Moore.
