L. Louise Sparrow

Mrs. L. Louise Walters Sparrow, age 92 passed away peacefully at her home on September 24, 2018.  Private burial will be held in Greensboro, NC at a later date. Visitation will be held at Norton Funeral Home, on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 from 5:00-7:00pm.

Mrs. Sparrow, the widower of James Evans Sparrow, was born May 21, 1926 to the late Lizzie Lee Grantham and Tommie Ellis Walters.  She was a former employee of JC Penney of Greensboro, NC.   Louise loved her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and people in general.  She also loved knitting scarfs that she would give to her friends and reading her Bible.  She will be missed by many.

Surviving are sons, James “Pressley” Sparrow (Wanda), Prattville, AL, Larry “Wayne” Sparrow, Hampton, VA; daughter, Vivian Louise Sparrow Drinkard (John), Hartsville, SC; sister, Mildred Purvis (Ted), Hartsville, SC; grandchildren, Karen Mixon Urbanic (Ralph), Charleston, SC, John Michael Drinkard (Brandy), Lexington, SC, Rhonda Diane Sparrow, Prattville, AL, James Robert Sparrow (Robin), Troy, AL, Jason Benjamin Sparrow, Norfolk, VA, Ashley Lynn Sparrow Wells (Jared), Crescent City, CA; great grandchildren, SPC Hunter Evans Mixon, Dalton Monroe Mixon, Katelyn Marie Urbanic, Justin Michael Drinkard, Caleb Alexander Jones, Sydney Grace Jones, Katelyn Grace Sparrow, Hannah Jolene Sparrow, James Bailey Sparrow, Joshua Brett Jones (Taina); daughter in law, Donna Sparrow, sister in law, Doris Walters, also surviving are 4 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Christine King; brothers, Hilton Walters and Mack Walters (Donna); son, Tommy Harold Sparrow.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Garden Club or Grounds Committee 104 E. Home Ave. Hartsville, SC 29550.

The family would like to thank Hospice Care of South Carolina  for the wonderful care they provided to their Mother, especially Lacie Bowman and Rachel Stacey.
