McBee,S.C. Funeral services for Levern Bit Gardner age 75, who passed away May 27, will be held Thursday at 4:00 at Union United Methodist Church. Rev. Steven Todd and Rev. Charlie Short will officiate. Burial will be in the Union Methodist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 at the Funeral Home. Bit was born inHartsville a son of the late William Hampton & Effie Mae Hall Gardner. He was retired from Sonoco Products Company after 28 years of service, was a member of the Old Timers Club, member of Union United Methodist Church , the Union Mens Fellowship and the Jerry Holley Sunday School Class. He loved working, fishing, hunting and gardening. Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Shirley Mozingo Gardner, McBee; two sons, Phillip (Beth) Gardner and Dennis (Tracy) Gardner, McBee,; two sisters, Ann Driggers, Bishopville and Janice Hatten, Dinwiddie, VA; four brothers, Sam (Shelby) Gardner, Charles (Alice) Gardner , Bill Gardner, all of McBee and Donald (Deborah) Gardner, Bishopville; five grandchildren, Corey, Tyler, Tanner and Kerri Gardner and Sarah Howle. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Patty Cleaton, Shirleen Stephens and Betty Martin.Memorials may be made to the Union United Methodist Church, 4374 Union Church Road, McBee, S.C. 29101. www.nortonfh.net
