Lena Polk

Hartsville, S.C. Lena Ruth Prater Polk, age 83, passed away Wednesday March 27, 2013 after a brief illness. She was born in Edison, GA a daughter of the late Joseph and Ida Mae McLendon Prater. She moved to South Carolina after marrying Thomas Marion (Tom) Polk. Ms. Polk was a woman of strong faith and had attended several churches in the Florence area. Her favorite pastime was drawing and she enjoyed sharing her art work with loved ones. Surviving are four children, Donna (Mike) Dearing , Patrick, S.C., Tommy (Ann) Polk, New Bedford, MA, Dianna Lynn Polk, Effingham, S.C. and Jim (Cindy) Polk, Florence, S.C. and by her grandsons, Josh Polk and Brad (Whitney) Turner and great grandson, Eli Turner. Services are provided by Norton Funeral Home and a private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
