Laverne Shirley

Hartsville, S.C. Graveside services for Laverne Shirley, age 80, who passed away December 31, will be held Monday at 11:00 at the New Market Methodist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Margaret Hicks & Rev. Myrna Westfall will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday 4-6 pm at the Funeral Home. Mr. Shirley was born in Hartsville a son of the late Louis A. and Carrie Douglas Shirley. He was a member of New Market United Methodist Church, worked at the Hartsville Print and Dye Works, Campbell Soup Company and was self employed for the remainder of his life until retirement. He was much loved by his family and friends. Surviving are his brother, Louis C. Shirley (Christine), Bishopville, sisters-in laws, Helen D. Shirley, Hartsville, and Mable L. Shirley, Bishopville, and many nieces and nephews who lovingly called him Uncle Bunk He was preceded in death by brothers, Alvin A. Shirley and Eugene Shirley, sisters, Ruby S.
