Kenneth David "Yogi" King, Sr.

Graveside services for Kenneth David “Yogi” King, Sr. age 89 will be held 2:00pm Sunday at First Baptist Church of Pine Ridge Cemetery.  Pastor Wayne Cash will officiate, directed by Norton Funeral Home.  Visitation will follow the services.

Mr. King passed away on January 7, 2023.  He was born in Roland, NC the son of the late Spencer and Sarah McPhail King.  He was retired from CP&L after 32 years of service.  He was Veteran of the US Navy.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pine Ridge.  He enjoyed fishing and was a talented woodworker.  He was known for making beautiful furniture.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, David King, Jr. his wife Ginger, Hartsville; daughter, Beth Byrd her husband Rodney, Hartsville; grandchildren, Heather Neal, her husband Jeremy, Rodney “Roddy” Byrd, Jr. his wife, Katelyn; great grandchildren, Hunter Neal, Maddux Neal and Rodney “Sonny” Byrd, III; sister, Vivian Baker, Roland, NC; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Hardaway King.
