Graveside services for Joyce King Davis, age 86, will be held Sunday at 4:00 at the St. Matthew United Methodist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Kathy Carr and Pastor Evered Reconnu will officiate. Visitation will be 2:30 – 3:30 on Sunday in the church.
Joyce was born in Bethune a daughter of the late Benton King and Marie Waters King. She was a faithful member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church for over 50 years and served on several committee’s. She was a member of the WMU. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She loved her family and was willing to do without to supply for them and was always involved with her children. She also loved to help take care of friends in the community.
Surviving are three daughters, Elaine Dickinson, Bishopville, Margaret Barrineau, Sumter and Christine Brown, Bishopville; one son, Derrick (Teresa) Kelley, Bishopville; one sister in law, Rae King, Camden; seven grandchildren, David (Frances) Scott, Bishopville, Meagan (Chris) Hoff, Lexington, Douglas (Amy) Barrineau, Sumter, Mollie (Austin) Kocher, Columbia, Trent (RaeAnne) Brown, Rock Hill, Rachel (Chandler) Melton, Columbia and Katie Kelley, Hartsville; three great grandchildren, Madison Scott, Porter Barrineau and Pressley Barrineau. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Roy Kelley and Neal Davis; one brother, Brantley King and one son in law, Wayne Barrineau.
