Joseph Delmas Freeman

Society Hill – Mr. Joseph Delmas Freeman, 89, went home to be with The Lord on Thursday morning, March 3rd, 2022, while at home with his family.

A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 on Sunday afternoon, March 6th, 2022, from Harris Creek Baptist Church.  Reverend Hunter Harmon and Reverend Ricky Cox will officiate with burial following in the church cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  The family also welcomes friends anytime at the residence at 1387 Toney Mill Rd., Society Hill.

A native and lifelong resident of Society Hill, Mr. Freeman was a son of the late Clarence Allen & Della Edwards Freeman.  Delmas enjoyed fishing and loved watching NASCAR.  He retired from a lifelong career in farming.  Delmas was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War.

Surviving are his wife, the lifelong love of his life, Vonzeale Jones Freeman of the home; sisters, Faye Howle of Society Hill and Linda Howle of Hartsville; numerous nieces and nephews; grandchildren, Carly Jones-Tolson & Chandler (Kendell) Jones-Tolson; great-grandchildren, Ella Tolson & Camryn Tolson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Harris Creek Baptist Church at 356 Harris Creek Church Rd., Society Hill, SC 29593.
