Services for John Russell Haire age 28 will be held on Friday, March 2 at 2:00pm at West Hartsville Baptist Church.  Pastor Kevin Walters will officiate.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home.  Visitation will be held Thursday 5-7pm at Norton Funeral Home.

John Russell passed away at Carolina Hospital Systems  in Florence on February 26, 2018.  He was born in Florence, the son of John H. Haire, III and Krystal Helms Branch.  He was diagnosed with Friedreich’s Ataxia in his early teenage years, he was very independent until the day of his passing.  He loved outdoors, music and fishing.  John Russell was a fan of the Clemson Tigers and enjoyed attending the football games with his father.  He always had a positive outlook on life regardless of his physical condition, loved his family, he was a fighter, a devoted Christian and was an inspiration to others.  He had a good heart and would always put others needs and feeling before his own.

Surviving are his father of Hartsville, and mother of Hartsville; sisters, Lyvian Haire, Emily Branch; aunt Sunni Haire Cassidy; paternal grandfather, John H. (Buck) Haire, Jr. and his wife Anne; maternal grandmother, Loueaster Helms Beaver, and her husband Carl; uncles, Mitch Helms, Milton Helms, Matthew Helms.

He was preceded in death by paternal grandmother, Ruth Gardner Huggins, paternal great grandmother, Constance Gandy, maternal grandfather, Milton Raymond Helms, Sr., his faithful companion, his dog, Bear.
