Johnny Warren Morrell

Johnny “Warren” Morrell, 80, of Hartsville, went to his heavenly home on June 26, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Warren was the son of Warren Clifton and Opal Carroll Morrell. Warren and his loving wife of 48 years, Jeanette Hodge Morrell, served their community through food, friendship, countless stories and laughter at their beloved Carolina Lunch in downtown Hartsville for over 20 years. Warren faithfully served our country in the United States Navy for four years. He was an active member of the Hartsville Masonic Lodge and served as a Shriner. Retired from Sonoco Products Company after 36 years of service, Warren spent his days doing the things he loved most: fishing, golfing, cruising on his motorcycle, and spending time with his family and friends in Hartsville and Murrells Inlet.

Honoring his memory are his wife and daughters, Rachel (Tommy) Foy, Kendra (Mickey) Braddock, and Karen Morrell. Sisters Diane (John) Fedorchuk and Sonja Moody. Grandchildren Erin (Brantley) Baker, Derek (Lauren) Braddock, Ryanne (Ronnie) Gainey, Quinci Atkinson, Jordan (Kolby Stockton) Braddock, Michelle (Kendrick) Wise, Logan Morrell, and Karlee Dixon. Great-grandchildren Michael Warren Gainey, Collins Johnson, Callie Braddock, Qurrina Stone, and Tali Tinneny, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Warren Clifton Morrell II, daughter, Rebecca Davis, and brother-in-law, Royace Moody.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at 4 PM in the Chapel at Norton Funeral Home in Hartsville. The family will receive friends at the conclusion of the Celebration of Life.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) or to the charity of your choice. The family of Warren wishes to extend our sincerest thanks to Tidelands Waccamaw Community Hospital and Dr. Carol Bogdan.
