Funeral services for Johnny Hillard Mitchell, age 73, will be held Monday at 5:00 at the Piney Plain Free Will Baptist church. Rev. William Griggs and Rev. Jimmy Johnson will officiate. Burial will be in the Piney Plain Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday 3-5 pm at the funeral home.

Johnny was born in Pamplico a son of the late Ora Lee Evans Watford. He was a faithful member of Piney Plain Free Will Baptist Church. He was retired from Sonoco Products Company after 24 years of service. He was employed with Williams Trucking Company and later with Builders Transport. He loved his Lord, family and fishing and the love of his life was his four grandsons. He was always helping someone in need.

Surviving are his wife, Linda Griggs Mitchell, Hartsville; one son, Robert (Tina) Mitchell, Wallace, two daughters, Theresa (Ricky) Walters, Hartsville and Angel (Bobby) Byrd, Hartsville; four grandsons, Bobby Walters, Hartsville, Tyler Byrd, Hartsville, Coby Byrd, Hartsville and Layson Mitchell, Wallace.

Memorials may be made to the Piney Plain Free Will Baptist Church, 2628 Patrick Highway, Hartsville, S.C. 29550.
