John Francisco Gutierrez

Mr. John Francisco Gutierrez, 65, of McBee, passed away Sunday morning, January 16th, 2022, while at home.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 on Thursday afternoon, January 20th, 2022, from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home with Reverend Patrick Dye officiating. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

A native of Montevideo, Uruguay, Mr. Gutierrez was a son of John Francisco, Sr. & Isabel Benitez Gutierrez.  John was a Harley Davidson enthusiast; he loved working on and riding motorcycles, attending rallies, and anything that had to do with a Harley.  He loved his family dearly and would give anything he could to them. His son, John will remember him as his best friend and confidant.  John loved being a bus driver for 10 years.  He took pride in seeing the kids every day and making sure they were taken care of.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his life partner, Lorraine Abruzzo of McBee; son, John (Kari) Gutierrez of McBee; grandchildren: Isabel Gutierrez, Sarah Gutierrez, and Emma Gutierrez all of Long Island, NY; a sister, Maria (Carlos) Isabel Mercado of Hartsville; nephews, Zachary Mercado and Jared Mercado.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Louis Gutierrez and a sister, Grace Gutierrez.
