John Stewart O'Neal

Funeral services for John Stewart O’Neal age 76 will be held Saturday at 3:00 pm at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Danny Pierce will officiate. Burial will be in the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

John was born in Hartsville a son of the late Robert H. O’Neal and Esma Stewart O’Neal. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. He was engaged in farming all his life even beginning in his childhood on the family farm. He was a 1964 graduate of Darlington High School. He loved salt water fishing , hunting and sitting on the porch with Laura waving at the people as they passed by. He was a hard worker and served in the National Guard.

Surviving are one daughter, Laurie (Gordon) Lane, Hartsville; one brother, Bobby (Martha Frey) O’Neal, Florence; two sisters, Iris (Jimmy) Tyler, Darlington and Sarah Teal, Hartsville; A Special Friend, Laura Griggs Burns, Darlington. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Outlaw O’Neal and a brother, Mark C. O’Neal.

Memorials may be made to the Antioch Baptist Church, 1121 Bethlehem Road, Hartsville, S.C. 29550 or to the McLeod Cancer Center, 555 East Cheves  Street , Florence, S.C. 29506.
