Hartsville, S.C. Memorial services for Joel Creighton Segars, Sr. age 77, who passed away August 25, will be held Wednesdayat 3:00 pmat theFirst Free Will Baptist Church. Rev. Cyrus Shoffner will officiate. Visitation will be following the service at the church. Joel was born in Hartsville a son of Chesley Creighton & Ruth Marshall Segars. He was retired from Sonoco Products Company, a member of the Old Timers Club and later retired from National Can in Fairfield, CA. He was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. He previously owned Joels Shell Station. He was an avid Nascar Fan and his favorite driver was Dale Earnhardt, Sr. No. 3. He was a Navy Veteran. Surviving are one son: Joel C. (Vicky) Segars, Jr. Hartsville; one daughter, Candy (Les) Richburg, Sumter; three grandchildren, Kacey Segars, Hartsville, Ryan Segars, Hartsville and Thomas Richburg, Sumter; three step children, Dennis Sellards, Hartsville, Darlene (Wyatt) Earp, Dixon, CA and Laura Sellards, Sacramento, CA; two step grandchildren, Kimberly Sellards, Tennessee and Heather Sellards, Hartsville; one step great grandchild, Haley Sellards, Hartsville. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Ree Stephens. Memorials may be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church, 1752 South Fourth Street, Hartsville, S.C. 29550. www.nortonfh.net
