Joan Kelly

We are saddened to announce the passing of Joan Lois Urwiler Kelly.  A service of Remembrance will be held Monday, March 1, 2021 at 11:00am at the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home.  Visitation will be 10:30-11:00am prior to the services.  Mrs. Kelly passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021 at Morrell Nursing Home.

She was the wife of the late Major Anderson (Buddy) Kelly II who passed away in 2011. Born October 5, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late J. Frank and Maude (Markley) Urwiler. She was a 1950 graduate of Lansdale High School, Lansdale PA. She was a LT in the US Army’s nurses training program, earned her RN degree and met the love of her life and husband, Buddy. Once married, she lived in PA and SC where she worked many years as a registered nurse and raised 5 children. She is survived by her daughters Diane Cassidy and Karen DeBerry (Flin), 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband, Major (Buddy) Kelly, sons Charles, John (J.F) and Michael, and grandson Heath Kelly.
