Mr. Jimmy M. Farmer, 67, of Bethune died peacefully while surrounded by family at Regency Hospital in Florence on Friday, September 1st.
 
Graveside services will be held 3:00pm Wednesday September 6 at the Bethune Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home, Hartsville.  Rev. Scott Bernshausen will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5-7 pm at Norton Funeral Home and at other times at the residence 604 South Walton Street, Bethune, S.C. 
 
Jimmy was born in Sumter, a son of the late Jimmy M. Farmer Sr. and Eleanor Hopkins Farmer. Surviving is his wife, Beverly, a son, Lucas Farmer, daughter, Amanda Farmer Kissiah (Chris) and a bonus daughter, Ashley Saleeby (Eli). Also surviving are grandchildren, Meredith Sprouse, Mason Saleeby, Connor Farmer, Payton Kissiah, Blake Sprouse and Caleb Saleeby.
 
Jimmy was one of five children. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a brother, Johnny Dixon and a sister, Gail Newman. He is survived by two sisters, Janice Culpepper (Dan) of West Columbia and Deneese Davis (Chris) of Camden. 
 
Jimmy worked hard all of his life, beginning with working on a horse farm as a child, to gas station attendant or anything that he was able to do and he always learned from each job. He enlisted in the Army and served with honor. After his discharge, he attended Florence-Darlington Tech and received two associate degrees. He held several jobs and eventually retired after 33 years at the A.O. Smith plant in McBee. 
 
His family was his first love, followed by music, fishing and motorcycles. He could play a guitar like no one else and enjoyed making his own versions of songs.
He was a life member of the Grumpy Old Men Motorcycle Club and loved his biker brothers.
He loved life and people and will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
