View Remembrance Video Lamar, S.C. Memorial service for Jesse Lee (Jackie) Ward, III, age 81, will be held Thursday at 2:00 at the Emmanuel Baptist Church directed by Norton Funeral Home. Dr. Gary Colboch will officiate. Visitation will be following the service in the church. Jackie was born in Hartsville a son of Cornelia Brunson Ward and the late Jesse Lee Ward, Jr. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was owner of Wards Mechanical Service and was a contractor at Nucor Steel. He was a hard worker. Surviving are his wife, Annette Hepburn Ward, Lamar; his mother of Lamar; three daughters, Jackie (Wiley) Mayo, Lamar, Margaret (Scott) Heilman, Florence and Kathy (Ricky) Gray, Effingham; one step son, Chris (Gina) Jordan, Hartsville; two sisters, Meredith (David) Martin, Newport, N.C. and Mary Ann Floyd, Hadelock, N.C.; five brothers, Randy (Sandy) Ward, Richard (Pam) Ward, Donald (Janet) Ward, Bobby Ward, all of Lamar and Mark (Vicky) Ward, Lydia; Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Danny, George, Walter and Billy Ward and one grandchild, Andrew Coleman.
