It is with deep sadness that Judy Fales announces the passing of her beloved husband, Jerry. Jerry age 73 went home to be with his Lord and Savior Friday evening surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held 4:00pm Monday at Clyde Church of God. Bishop Daniel Eli Poston and Bishop James Petty will officiate, directed by Norton Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in the Clyde Church of God Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
Jerry was born in Darlington County, the firstborn son of the late David McKinley and Sarah Lee Shumate Fales. Jerry was a retired Registered Nurse, serving over 40 years in the medical field, he was also retired from the Military, with three years in the Army, and 20 years in the National Guard before retiring. Mr. Fales was a lifetime member of the Clyde Church of God, where he enjoyed cooking for the Men’s fellowship group, and he was also known at the church for his famous chili. Jerry loved the Lord, his family and let’s not forget the love he had for his tractor and fur baby Sadie.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Judy, Daughter, Talena (Wayne) Garner, Son, Shon (Angie) Fales. Grandchildren Becky (Luke) Hudson, Matthew Johnson, Baylee Johnson, Emma Fales, Elizabeth Fales, two great grandchildren Lucas and Amelia Hudson. Brother Michael (Sharon) Fales, Brother-In-Law Larry (Teresa) Gainey, two step grandsons, Andy and Zach Garner.
He is preceded in death by two sisters: Judy Blackwell and Brenda Gainey.
