Graveside services for Jennie Lynn Sherrill, 63, will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11:00am at Bethlehem United Methodist Church. Pastor Dave Worthington and Pastor Tom McLean will officiate, directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be following the services at the church fellowship hall.
Jennie Lynn passed away on Tuesday, June 26, 2018.
Surviving is her mother, Cordelia “Dee” Sherrill, Hartsville; brother and sisters John Sherrill III, Hartsville; Tarthis “Tosha” Sherrill, Hartsville; Permelia “Anna” Sherrill, Hartsville; nieces Blair (Spencer) Huggins, Hartsville; Amber Sherrill, Cleveland, OH; great niece Everleigh Huggins, Hartsville; goddaughter Meghan Hall, Hartsville; and beloved dachshund, Paris.
She was preceded in death by her father, John “Conrad” Sherrill Jr.
Born in Hartsville, South Carolina February 5, 1955, Jennie primarily lived in and around Hartsville most of her life. After graduating from Hartsville High School in 1973, Jennie studied Art and Art Therapy at the University of South Carolina and Wingate University. As a retired member of Darlington County School District, Jennie used her gifts and talents to mentor children through the use of art and inspired those around her to “paint outside the lines”.
Aside from work, she was a devoted volunteer and shared her passion for fellowship within the community. Long known for her creative spirit and love for fashion, Jennie will be remembered for her colorful personality and will be greatly missed by family and close friends.
Pallbearers are, Scott Hall, Spence Huggins, Calvin Johnson, Bill Sherrill, Van Chapman, Andy Sumner and Josh Sumner.
