Jean Bradshaw Durham, 76, of Hartsville, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Thursday, March 2nd.
Jean was born on July 31st, 1946 to Hazel and Ludell Barfield McElveen. She was a lifelong Hartsville resident and spent a fruitful career in textiles across various management positions. She retired from Wal-Mart, after several years managing the Snack Bar.
Her favorite hobbies and interests were feeding people, listening to country music, scrolling through pictures of her great-grandson, drinking coffee, and being everyone’s favorite “Granny.” We will remember Granny for her giving nature, her strong opinions, and her stories.
Surviving are her husband of 31 years, Jay, son David (Lois) Bradshaw, Jr. of Hartsville, granddaughter Rachel (Cameron)and great-grandson Dawson Dykes of Tampa, brothers and sisters-in-law Hazel McElveen, Earl (Edna) McElveen, Tommy (Judy) McElveen, Anna Laura McElveen, and many nieces and nephews.
Jean is preceded in death by her first husband, David Bradshaw, Sr., brother Jack McElveen, sisters Ruby Parker and SueTadlock.
A visitation will be held at Norton Funeral Home on Friday, March 3 from 4-6pm, and a graveside service will be held at Westview Cemetery on Saturday, March 4 at 4pm.
