James Byrnes Flowers, age 68, passed away peacefully at home in Hartsville, SC on July 13, 2019. Services will be held Tuesday , July 16th at 11:00 at Chapel Norton Funeral Home with a visitation following immediately after the celebration.
Mr.Flowers was born on January 16, 1951 to the late James Wooster and Myrtle Flowers of Lydia, SC.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Pamela Best Flowers and two children, James Ashley Flowers and Carrie Flowers Buchanan (Corey). He was able to reconnect with his son after many years, Rick (Stevette) Young. He is survived by his grandchildren, Mac and Miller Buchanan, Bo (Anna), Gavin and Roddy Barrett Young.
Mr. Flowers began his career as a machinist and plant manager. He later built and started Pam’s Restaurant in Hartsville in 1993. His only hobbies were hard work and his family. If he wasn’t frying chicken, he loved working on and repairing rental houses. People in the community knew him by Bogie, Jim, Jim Bob, Jimmy, Poppa Jim and Jeff. He was such a big personality that one name wouldn’t suffice! His family and friends will miss him, but know that heaven is a little bit brighter today.
The family would like to thank Hospice Care of South Carolina for the wonderful services they provided over the past few months; especially Rachel, Tiffany, Staci, Diane and Shannon.
Mr. Flowers was a lover of animals, especially his beloved dog, Annie. Memorials can be made to Darlington County Humane Society PO Box 1655 Hartsville, SC 29551 in his name.
