Mr. James Allen Tyner, 71, of Hartsville, went to be with The Lord on Thursday afternoon, March 11. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 11:00 am at the Magnolia Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Bryant McCrae will officiate. Family will receive friends anytime at the residence at 409 Patrick Highway, Hartsville.
Allen worked for the Hartsville Fire Department for 30 years where he retired at the rank of Captain. He was a loving son, devoted husband, best daddy and pop-pop any child could ever ask for. He was a kidder, jokester, cook/baker and those who knew him knew he loved them big. He used ever single bit of his dash well. He will be loved and missed by many. God got one of the best, when he got my daddy.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Ann King Tyner, Hartsville; his mother Barbara Jo Gainey Tyner, Hartsville; one daughter, April (Carl Hatley) Tyner, Hartsville; one grandchild, Allee Hatley, Hartsville; one brother, Tony Tyner, Little River; two brothers in law, Fred Dixon, Gainesville, GA and Ray (Barbara) King, Hartsville.
