Funeral services for James Russell Watson, Jr. age 50, formerly of Hartsville, will be held Wednesday at 3:00pm at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Bishop Heber J. Watson, Jr. will officiate.Burial will be in the Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the funeral home and other times at 1805 Kelleytown Road, Hartsville, S.C.

Russ was born in Hartsville a son of James Russell Watson, Sr. and Trudy Ellison Watson. He was a 1984 graduate of Hartsville High School, attended Florence-Darlington TEC and Coker College. He worked at Sonoco Products Company for 15 years and then moved to the Beach and worked for Thompson Heating & Air Condition. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He was an avid fisherman, loved the beach where he loved to be in the Sun. He loved to laugh and make people laugh and loved to cook.

Surviving are his wife Donyell Morrison Watson, Murrells Inlet; his father, Hartsville and his mother of Spartanburg; one daughter, McKenli (Makki) Watson, Hartsville; the mother of his daughter, Traci Funderburk-Rogers, Hartsville; two brothers, Lance Ryan (Blake) Watson, Fallston, N.C. and Taylor J. Watson, Hartsville; one sister, Sundi (Ricky) Watson Catoe, Hartsville; two nieces, Maci Catoe, Hartsville and Luma Watson, Fallston, N.C.; three nephews, Austin & Cason Catoe, Hartsville and Jude Watson Fallston, N.C.
