James Spence, Sr

Hartsville, S.C. Funeral services for James William Spence, Sr. age 74, who passed away June 23, will be held Friday at 3:00 at the Church of God of Prophecy. Rev. Jimmy Jeffords will officiate. Burial will be in the Damascus Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior at the service at the church. Mr. Spence was born in Hartsville a son of the late James V. & Pearlie Weatherford Spence. He was retired from the US Navy after 22 years of service and was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. Surviving are his wife, Teresa Vann Spence, Hartsville; one son, James William Spence, Jr., Frankfort, KY; two step sons, Horace Boan and Richard Boan, both of Hartsville; three step daughters, Jackie Watford, Rhonda Welch and Donna Jackson, all of Hartsville; two sisters, Joyce Howle, Society Hill and Edith Goins, Bennettsville; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
