James Gainey

Hartsville, S.C. Funeral services for James Phillip Gainey, age 66, who passed away February 26, will be held Friday at 3:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Brother Jimmy Johnson, Rev. Henry Johnson and Rev. Roger Ammonswill officiate. Burial will be in the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends at the residence 1808 Brunt Branch Road. Mr. Gainey was born in Chesterfield a son of the late J.C. & Gladys Griggs Gainey. He was a member of Zion Church of God and was a Veteran of the Vietnam War. Surviving are his wife, Ann Johnson Gainey, Hartsville; two daughters, Laura (Jeff) Byrd, Hartsville and Amber (Brandon) Hooper, Patrick; two brothers, Rev. Jerry (Cathy) Gainey, Patrick and Larry (Shirley) Gainey, Patrick; three sisters, Gail (Gary) Duvall, Patrick, BJ (Doug) Bruner, Batesburg and Faye (James) Gainey, Hartsville; four grandchildren, Chelsea Byrd, Hartsville, Farrah Byrd, Hartsville, Luke Byrd Hartsville and Anna Rae Byrd, Hartsville; one great grandchild, Roxanne Gainey, Hartsville.
