Mr. James Sidney Outlaw, Sr., 87, of Bishopville, went to his Heavenly Home on Thursday evening, March 16th, 2023, while surrounded by his loving family.
A native of Kershaw County, Mr. Outlaw was a son of the late Willie Ervin & Anna Galloway Outlaw. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, and raising chickens. James Sidney served our country in the Army National Guard for 6 years and retired from Sonoco Products Company after 35 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Harmony Baptist Church and attended St. Matthew United Methodist Church.
Surviving to cherish his memory is his wife, Celeste K. Outlaw of the home; sons, James Sidney (Candi) Outlaw, Jr. and Tony Marvin (Jho) Outlaw, Sr. both of Bishopville; grandchildren: Katherine (Will) Gaskins of McBee, Dalton Outlaw of Ft. Myers, FL, Anna (Jonathan) Swartz of Columbia, Tee (Kelsy) Outlaw of Bishopville, and Jenna (Calvin) Blaschke of Charleston; great-grandchildren: Sydney Celeste Gaskins, Allie Gaskins and soon-to-be, Maggie Swartz and Everly Gaskins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Taylor Gainey; siblings: Tom Willis Outlaw, Willie “Bill” Outlaw, Jr., Georgia Pauline Boykin, and Doris Anne Outlaw Wilds.
His service will be conducted at 3:00 on Sunday afternoon, March 19th, 2023, from St. Matthew United Methodist Church. Reverend Champ Squires will officiate with burial following in the church cemetery. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service in the fellowship hall.
