James Kea

Graveside services for James Martin Kea, age 80, will be held Saturday at 11:00 at Magnolia Cemetery in Hartsville directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Carl Hunsucker will officiate. Visitation will be following the service at the graveside.

Mr. Kea was born in Hartsville, a son of the late Robert Kinchen Kea and Corrie Garland Kea. He was an excellent manager for Family Dollar and managed one of Family Dollar’s largest stores. He was well respected in his community and well liked by all who knew him. He graduated from Hartsville High School in 1955 and attended Clemson University. He then served in the US Air Force. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for many years. James was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Surviving are his wife, Christa Langston Kea, Rock Hill; two daughters, Carolline (Chip) Harper, Hartsville and  Allison (Billy) Reynolds, Calhoun Falls; three grandchildren, Alisha Bennett, Calhoun Falls, Wil and Katherine Harper, both of Hartsville. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kea and a sister, Frances Richardson.
