Mr. James Vernon Huggins, Sr, 86, husband of Ruby W. Huggins, passed away September 18th, 2024 after a brief illness.
Jimmy was born May 28th, 1938, in Lake City, eldest son of the late George Samuel Huggins, Sr. and Etta Lee Ard Huggins. Jimmy served in the United States Army, 82nd Airborne Division and was stationed both stateside and in Korea. He later finished his civil service career with the United States Post Office, where he later retired. Jimmy was a long time member of Mt. Elon Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby W. Huggins of the home; daughter Brenda (Luis) Huggins; sons James (Rhonda) Huggins, Randall (Svitalna) Huggins; 6 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandsons. Jimmy is also survived by his brother, Clint Huggins; sisters Julie Hancock, Jeannette Burgess, and Elaine Huggins. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sharon Huggins; grandson, Randall Perkins and brother, Bobby Huggins.
A Private graveside service will be held directed by Norton Funeral Home, Bishopville
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to McLeod Hospice House.
