Hartsville, S.C. Graveside services for James Laban (Jimbo) Davis, Sr. age 59, will be held Wednesday at 3:00 at New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Cliff Leonard and High Priest Danny Solomonwill officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday 5-7 pm at the Funeral Home. Jimbo was born in Charlotte, N.C. a son of Essie Mae Jordan Davis and the late Edwin Maxie Davis. He coached Little League Football, Baseball and Girls Soft Ball for 20 plus years. Being a coach of young people was something he enjoyed and meant a lot to him. Surviving are his wife, Claudette Byrd Davis, Hartsville; his mother of Hartsville; one son, James (Justin) and wife Meg Davis, Hartsville; one daughter, Candace Parker and husband Brett, Hartsville; one sister, Jean (David) Miller, Raleigh, N.C.; one brother, Mackie Davis, Hartsville; four grandchildren, Paisley Davis, Lathan Anderson, Brook Sylvester and Jameson Parker, all of Hartsville. He was preceded in death by twin grandchildren, Reece and Kamden Davis. Norton Funeral Home is honored to serve the Davis family.
