Howard Griggs

Hartsville, S.C. Funeral services for Howard Burnice Griggs, age 90, who passed away November 22, will be held Saturday at 4:00 at the Kelleytown Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Kelleytown Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Friday 5-7 pm at the Funeral Home. Mr. Griggs was born in Patrick, a son of the lateWilliam Henry & Jesse Viola Gainey Griggs. He was retired from Sonoco Products Co. after 37 years of service, was a member of the Old Timers Club, amember of Kelleytown Baptist Church and a Veteran of WWII where he served with General George Patton. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Johnson Griggs, Hartsville; two sons, Randy (Connie) Griggs, Dothan, AL and Kent (Dona) Griggs, Conway SC;three sisters, Letha G. Barnhill, Helen G. Byrd and Beulah (Kenneth) Chapman, all of Hartsville; three brothers, David (Anne) Griggs, Sumter, Olin (Miriam) Griggs and Harvey (Helen) Griggs, all of Hartsville; three grandchildren, Scott (Ingrid) Griggs, Dacula, GA, Capt. Smith (Victoria) Griggs, Dothan, Al and Ginger (Thomas) Phelps, Conway; five great grandchildren,Noah Griggs, Eli griggs, Libby Griggs, Perrin Griggs and Barrett Griggs.Mr. Griggs was preceded in death by a sister, Carrie Akin and four brothers, Horace N.
