Helen Ruth Thomas Cartee

Hartsville, S.C.

Funeral services for Helen Ruth Thomas Cartee age 90, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 at the Forest Hills Independent Baptist Church. Rev. Jim Murray will officiate. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be Monday 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Cartee was born in Manning a daughter of the late Frank Watson Thomas and Lois Maye Folsom Thomas. She was a Charter member of Forest Hills Independent Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the Choir. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She retired from the Darlington County Department of Social Services after 30 years of service.

Surviving are one daughter, Lois (David) Bradshaw, Hartsville; two sons, Henry (Hal) (Janet) Cartee, Jr. Florence and Gregory E. Cartee, Jefferson, GA; two grandchildren, Rachel Bradshaw (Cameron) Dykes, Tampa, Florida and Brandon Cartee, Florence; one great grandson, Dawson Dykes, Tampa, Florida. Mrs. Cartee was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Wilbur Thomas and two sisters, Elizabeth McElveen and Frances Tew.
