Gillum King

McBee, SC Services for Gillum (Gil) E. King, III age 66 will be held Sunday, July 3, 2011 at 2:00pm at the McBee United Methodist Church. Rev. Gary Compton will officiate. Burial will be in the McBee Cemetery, directed by Norton Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Saturday, 3-5 pm at the funeral home. Mr. King went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ following an extended illness on Thursday, June 30, 2011. He was born in Florence the son of the late Gillum Edward King, Jr. and Kathleen Heidtman King. He was a member of McBee United Methodist Church, a graduate of Camden Military Academy, attended N. C. State University, served in the National Guard as an MP, he lived out his passion for farming as owner and operator of King Farms, Inc. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family unconditionally. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Janice McCoy King, McBee. Children: Roni Atkinson, Florence, Gillum King, IV, McBee, Melanie (Cullen) Aultman, Little River, SC. Sister: Kit Gering, McBee.
