Gene Atkinson

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Mr. Gene Atkinson. The family of Mr. Atkinson will have a visitation time on Sunday, December 4, 2022, 4:00-6:00pm from Norton Funeral Home and Crematory.  Graveside services will be 11:00am Tuesday from the Florence National Cemetery.

Gene age 75 passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at his residence with his family by his side.  He was a veteran of the US Air Force.  Gene was owner and operator of the Country Barn Restaurant from 1992-2010.  He never met a stranger, loved good conversation, very outgoing and loved to have a good time. 

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Geraldine W. Atkinson, Hartsville; sons, Michael Trey Atkinson and his wife Ashley, Hartsville, William F. Atkinson and his wife Renee, Hartsville; grandchildren, Lilly M. Braloski, Anna Kate Atkinson, Emma Atkinson and Cameron Braloski; special friends of the family, Bill Gaskins, Andy and Ashley Gaskins.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Braloski, son in law, Todd Braloski, siblings, Thomas Atkinson, Randy Atkinson, Kathy Atkinson and Eddie Atkinson.
