Franklin L. Gainey, Sr.

We are saddened to announce the passing of Franklin L. Gainey, Sr.  

Mr. Gainey age 62 passed away on May 6, 2024.  He was born in Hartsville, SC the son of the late Jimmy L. and Audrey Faye Hancock Gainey.

He loved to fish and hunt, he stayed busy working and enjoyed spending time with his family.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons, Franklin L. Gainey, Jr., Hartsville, Raymond L. Gainey (Brittany), Georgia; sister, Linda Smith, (Butch), Hartsville, brother, James Gainey (Karen), Hartsville; step brothers, Maxie Gainey, Patrick, David Gainey (Kelli), Cheraw; grandsons, Connor Gainey, Jimmy Gainey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, also his grandparents, Rev. Doc and Vernell Gainey.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Saturday, May 11, 2024 from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home.  Rev. Russell Gainey, Rev. Trae Smoak and Mr. Tommy Gainey will officiate. Visitation will be at the residence of Linda Smith, 3446 West Old Camden Road, Hartsville, SC, 5:00-8:00pm on Friday.
