Frank Segars Moore, beloved husband, father and grandfather peacefully departed this earth on January 30, 2013. Born on April 24, 1935, in Hartsville, S.C., he attended Clemson when it was still a military college. He then entered the U.S. Air Force and completed flight training school, where he learned to fly C-119's. He was a veteran of the Korean War. After his military years, he went to work for Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., retiring after 28 years. In the ensuing years, he went on to work at Edwards and Warren Tire Co, The U.S. Chamber of Commerce, Lowe's and finally in his later years, "just to stay busy" he always said, part-time for Tires Plus. He was very much a family man and often planned exciting adventures for his wife and children. His loved fishing, camping, the beach or outdoors in general. Anyone who came to his house he immediately tried to feed, a very southern tradition. He is survived by his wife, Beverly, of 57 years, and one son, Steve Moore and his wife Jan, one daughter, Shelley McNeight, and her husband Chris, four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Richard "Dick" Moore, and his wife Demetra. The funeral service will be held at A.S. Turner & Sons, 2773 North Decatur Road, on Saturday February 2nd at 11:00am. The family will receive guests immediately following the service at the family home. Norton Funeral Home is assisting locally.
