Frances Melton

Mrs. Frances E. Beck “Fran” Melton, 67, of Hartsville, passed away Sunday morning, August 19th, 2018, at home surrounded by her family.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday in Emmanuel Baptist Church.  Reverend Dave Worthington will officiate with burial following in Magnolia Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Melton was born in Independence, Missouri, a daughter of the late Osborne A. & Goldie M. Lefter Beck.  Fran had many loves such as shopping and car shows, but her greatest love of all was her grandchildren.  She will always be remembered for her infectious smile and unconditional love.

Fran is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dennis Melton of the home; children: Shawn Melton and wife, Karen of Hartsville, Tanya McElveen and husband, Ray of Timmonsville, Eric Melton and wife, Samantha of Hartsville; grandchildren: Tamara Bullard and husband, Brent, Shawney Melton, Morgan Melton, Kayla McElveen, Aaron Melton, Kelsey McElveen, Dawson Melton, Emmalin Melton, Eli Melton, Ethan Melton; great-grandchildren: Kaylee Bullard, Braylen Bullard, Lillyanna Bullard; siblings: Bertha Kampe, Joe Beck and Ozzie Beck.  Also surviving are her pets: Nellie, Lexi, and Pepper.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 4 brothers.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in loving memory of Fran Melton to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
