Elvis Gainey

Hartsville, S.C. Funeral services for Elvis M. Gainey, age 87, who passed away September 29, will be held Wednesday at 3:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery. Rev. Jay Brunson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home. Mr. Gainey was born in Hartsville a son of the late Peter and Mamie Oneal Gainey. He was retired from Sonoco Products Company after 40 years of service, member of the Old Timers Club and a member of the Christian Fellowship Assembly of God Church. He was a Veteran of WW II. Surviving are two daughter, Evelyn (Edward) Ard, Effingham and Bonnie (James) Tyner, Summerville; two sons, Donnie (Vickie) Gainey, Dunn, N.C. and Mark (Joanne) Gainey, Hartsville; one brother, Ronnie Gainey, Hartsville; three sisters, Ruby Dampier, Hartsville, Beatrice Tobais, Darlington and Elizabeth Langbehn, Inglewood, Florida; 10 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Harrelson Gainey; three brothers, Glenn, Heyward and Hubert Gainey; one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
