Graveside services of Remembrance for Ellen Haire “Monk” Flowers age 86 will be held 11:00am Monday at Tabernacle United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pastor Danny Holley and Pastor Eugene Feagin will officiate. The family will welcome friends anytime at her residence, 3633 West Bobo Newsome Highway, Hartsville, SC.
Mrs. Flowers went home to be with the Lord on October 23, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was the daughter of the late Owens and Mary Shumake Haire. She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Ellen was a member of the choir and famously known for her homemade chicken and dressing that she made for her church family and community at many gatherings. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Ellen enjoyed sewing, working in her yard and antiques.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Claudia Warren (Billy), Chapin, Todd Flowers (Linda), Hartsville, Donna Mason (Pedy), McBee; Ellen’s favorite niece, Joyce Walters along with her two grandsons; uncle, John Shumake, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Flowers, siblings, Hubert Haire, Ruth Brown, Ibbie Griggs, Thomas Haire, Ruby Lee Albee, Ben Haire and Claudia Mae Haire.
