Mrs. Ellen Grady Watkins, 85, of Lamar, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 26th, 2018, at McLeod Regional Medical Center.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday in the Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery with Reverend Olin Kirkland officiating. The family will be receiving friends Sunday afternoon, from 4-6 p.m. at Norton Funeral Home of Bishopville.
Mrs. Watkins was born in Lamar, a daughter of the late Charlie & Alma Grady. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and will be remembered as a lady who dearly loved her family and leading others to The Lord. One example of her devotion to our Lord was her teaching Sunday school for 60 years. Ellen was a hard worker with many hobbies, one of which being working in her gardens.
Surviving are her husband, Gary Eldridge Watkins of the home; sons, Michael Watkins and wife, Pattie of Anderson and Stephen Watkins and wife, Tracie of Lamar; grandchild, Stephanie Gonzalez and husband, Victor of Lamar; 2 great-grandchildren, Victor Gonzalez IV and Gabriel Gonzalez both of Lamar; and a sister, Joyce Ward of Spartanburg.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; Virginia Weatherford, Sarah Reynolds, and Henry Grady.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Wayside Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
