Diane A. King

Hartsville, SC

Mrs. Diane A. King was called home to be with her Lord on Saturday morning, January 6^th, 2024, at the age of 75.

 A native and lifelong resident of Darlington County, Mrs. King was a daughter of the late Woodrow Wilson & Emma Jane Tyner Atkinson.  Diane was an amazing caretaker, dearly loved her family, and had an amazing GreenThumb.  She was President of Mother’s Against Drunk Driving for many years here in Darlington County and was a member of New Providence Baptist Church. 

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Marty Goodman of Maryville, TN and Jeff Goodman of Darlington, SC; special adopted daughters, Tammy (DeLeon) Flowers and Julie (Cowboy) Wilson both of Hartsville, SC; special adopted granddaughter, Willow Rogers; and best-friend, Jenny “Lou” Watkins of McBee, SC.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles “Buzzy” King; and 4 siblings. 

Her funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 on Monday afternoon, January 8^th, 2024, from New Providence Baptist Church.  Reverend Cliff Leonard will officiate with burial following in the church cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  The family also welcomes friends to visit with them at the Flowers Residence, 900 Lakeview Blvd, Hartsville.
