Dennis Neal "Spanky" Rhodes

Hartsville, S.C.

Dennis Neal (Spanky) Rhodes age 60 passed away at his residence on July 29. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 at the Chapel Norton Funeral Home. Rev. Richie Bradshaw will officiate. Burial will be in the Westview Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral Home.

Dennis was born in Hartsville a son of Virginia Darnell Rhodes and the late Elvis Eugene Rhodes. Dennis was a character of many sorts to say the least . He never met a stranger and was always willing to help anyone in need . His funny sayings and stories kept his friends and family laughing .He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with his friends, That's what's he loved ! Working on them he quickly learned how to do also, because he rode that old shovelhead!! If you needed a tire, Spanky had one. If you needed a hand, he had two and if you ask him if he needed a beer he'd tell you "well I ain't got one !

Surviving are his wife, Theresa Crowley Rhodes, Hartsville; four children, Daniel (Janie Lynn Ross) Rhodes, Whitney Rhodes Yarborough, April ( Jimmy) Gainey and Johnny (Lisa) Howle; siblings, Allen (Mae) Rhodes, Ricky (Della) Rhodes and Pam ( Tommy) Cassidy; his mother of Hartsville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, James Neal Rhodes; and a brother, Brent Rhodes.
