Dennis Carl Smith, Sr.

We are saddened to announce to death of Mr. Dennis Carl Smith, Sr. age 68.  He passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Mcleod RMC.

The family will plan a private Celebration of Life service at a later date in honor and remembrance of Sneed.

Mr. Smith was born in Hartsville, SC the son of the late Wade Hampton and Ruby Woods Smith.  He was retired from Sonoco Products Company, working in the Cone Department for many years.  He enjoyed watching Nascar Racing, he was a USC Gamecock and New England Patriot fan for many years.  He liked older model trucks.  “Sneed” as he was well know, was laid back and enjoyed making people laugh.  He will be missed by many.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Denny Carl Smith, Jr. Hartsville, Sandy Smith Mixon, Hartsville, Dennis Nichols, North Carolina; brother, Danny (Margie) Smith, Hartsville; grandchildren, Savannah Smith, Dale Mixon, Michael Mixon; great granddaughter, Maggie Martin; nieces, Marcie Smith, Dana Smith; several great nieces.

The family would like to say a special thanks to CCU Site 2 at McLeod Hospital for the wonderful care they provided “Sneed” and his family during his illness.
