Mr. David Wesley Riley, 72, of Bishopville, passed away Friday morning, March 18th, 2022, while at Lexington Medical Center.

A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 on Monday afternoon, March 21st, 2022, from Faith Baptist Church (Camden Hwy/Phillips Church Rd) with Reverend Jerry Underwood and Reverend Buddy Amerson officiating.  The family invites friends to stop by anytime and visit with them at 130 Lazy Acres Ln., Bishopville.

A lifelong resident of Lee County, Mr. Riley was a son of the late Leroy S. & Mary Ellis Riley.  David enjoyed working in his shop, tinkering with anything he could get his hands on.  His family meant the world to him because family meant everything.  He wanted to be outdoors as much as possible and loved spending time with his dogs.  Mr. Riley proudly served our country in the United States Marines.

Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Paulette “Cotton” Amerson Riley of the home; children, Wayne (Amah) Riley of Hartsville and Christy Lynn Riley of Bishopville; grandchildren: Caleb Riley, Josh Riley, Ava Riley, Carson Riley; nephew, Johnny Amerson; and a brother, Samuel L. Riley of Acworth, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Johnny Riley and Manuel Riley.

Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at 7020 A.C. Skinner Parkway, Suite 100, Jacksonville, FL 32256.
