Mr. David Algernon “Algy” Williams, Jr., 93, of Hartsville, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday afternoon, January 28th, 2017.
A celebration of life service will be held Monday morning at 11 o’clock in the Epperly-Williams Cemetery located at 1832 Blueberry Street in Hartsville with Revs. Charles McLendon and Danny Pierce officiating. The family will be receiving friends Sunday afternoon, from 4-6 p.m. at Norton Funeral Home.
Mr. Williams was born in Hartsville, a son of the late D.A. Sr. & Daisy Moak Williams. He was a founding member of Hartsville Advent Christian Church and a lifelong Sunday School Teacher. Algy was an avid South Carolina Gamecocks fan and enjoyed the game of golf. He was also a member of the Sonoco Old Timers Club, farmer, a family man who also loved his animals, but most importantly, he loved God. He was a Veteran of WWII.
Surviving are his wife, Lucile Beasley Williams of the home; son, Al Williams and wife, Pam of Hartsville, daughters: Derri Lynn Epperly and husband, Jack of Hartsville, Jan Cooler and husband, Roy of Elijay, GA and Shari Gainey and husband, Tom of Carrollton, GA. Grandchildren: Ethan Williams and wife, Sydni, Shannon Kang and husband, Jason, Aaron Cooler, Nick Gainey, Rachel Epperly, Brett Cooler, Hannah Epperly, and Darby Gainey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Hartsville Advent Christian Church, P.O. Box 912, Hartsville, SC 29551.
