Darwin Robert Tjaden

Mr. Darwin Robert “TJ” Tjaden, 84, of Cheraw, went peacefully to his heavenly home and Tuesday, August 25th, 2020.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 on Thursday afternoon, August 27th, 2020, from the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home.  Reverend William Archie Griggs will officiate with a private family burial to follow in the Cedar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mr. Tjaden was born in Manson, Iowa, to the late Heike & Martha Zehms Tjaden.  He was confirmed at the age of 12 by the Lutheran Church and baptized later at Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

Surviving are his 2 daughters, Tena (Tommy) Jordan of Greenwood and Donna (Hal) Baldwin of Hartsville; brother, Duane Tjaden of Tipton, Iowa; 5 grandchildren: Thomas (Cara) Jordan, Jr., Tanner (Catherine) Jordan, Taylor (Michaela) Jordan, Maggie (Corey) Gardner, and Melli Baldwin; 2 great-grandchildren, Natalie & Oliver; also many loving extended family, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Ann Tjaden and his sister, Norma Fisher.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Reverend Toby Frost of South Main Street Baptist Church in Greenwood and Cedar Creek Baptist Church in Hartsville for their many cards, visits, and lots of love.
