Clayton LeRoy "Roy" Johnson, Jr.

Mr. Clayton LeRoy “Roy” Johnson, Jr., 71, of Hartsville, passed away Wednesday evening, November 17th, 2021, while at Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 on Sunday afternoon, November 21st, 2021, from Magnolia Cemetery with Reverend Russell Gainey and Reverend Corinthia Mack officiating.  Military Honors will be provided by Ft. Jackson.  The family will be receiving friends from 1:00 – 2:00 prior to the service at Norton Funeral Home.

A native and lifelong resident of Hartsville, Mr. Johnson was a son of the late Clayton LeRoy, Sr. & Nettie Allen Johnson.  Roy worked with Coca-Cola; enjoyed music, playing pool, the Clemson Tigers, and deeply loved his grandchildren.  Some of his most fond memories were times spent with his cousins, Bea and Judy during their younger years.  Mr. Johnson honorably served our country in the United States Army.

Surviving are his wife, Sandra Heustess Johnson of the home; children, Robbie Ghoens and Rena Ghoens; grandchildren: Brianna Watford, Lacey Watford, Chelsea Ghoens, McKayla Ghoens, Remi Ghoens, and RJ Ghoens; great-grandchildren, Arleigh and McKenzlee; and a sister, Norma Jean King.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Janet Chapman and Craig Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Youth Department of New Market United Methodist Church at 1909 W. Old Camden Rd. Hartsville, SC 29550.
